Come Celebrate the Culinary Art of Alabama in Pepper Place!

Pepper Place is set to host "The Art of Alabama Food" exhibit featuring 36 food dishes from locally owned restaurants across the state.  Among this group of top chefs are several of our favorite Birmingham-based chefs and regulars of the Market at Pepper Place, including James Lewis, Chris Hastings and Frank Stitt.  The exhibit is open to the public June 12-28, Tuesday - Friday, 10am-5pm and Saturday 7am-Noon.

The Art of Alabama Food

From sophisticated seafood to decadent desserts, Alabama’s signature dishes have loyal fans the world over.  These dishes bring together centuries of Southern tradition with a fun and modern twist.  And here’s your chance to admire them in a unique way.

"The Art of Alabama Food" celebrates the culinary culture of Alabama. The 36 dishes featured in this exhibit represent the authentic array of food available from locally owned restaurants across  the state and are listed in the Alabama Tourism Department’s brochure “100 Dishes To Eat in Alabama Before You Die.”

The “100 Dishes” list now features more than 200 Alabama dishes. The Alabama Tourism Department, expert in all things Alabama, compiles the list of delectable dishes and refreshes it annually. While these dishes are impressive to look at, we can assure you they taste even better.
