Let’s Shamrock & Roll at the Birmingham Hammerfest Fueled by GATORADE ZERO on March 12 – 13!
The 3rd annual Hammerfest fueled by Gatorade Zero is taking place March 12 – 13. Professional cycling teams from all over the US will be racing through the streets of the Pepper Place District in downtown Birmingham on Saturday. This exciting, fast-paced criterium racing is not just for the pros. Amateurs, juniors, and hand cyclists will be tackling the same course and putting their skills to the test.
This FREE special weekend includes something for all ages with the Kids Zone, Community Hour, Lil’ Shamrock Ride, Lakeview Market Place vendors, and best-dressed contests for prizes. The Kids Zone opens at 2:30pm and will feature bouncy houses, crafts, and more! Don’t miss all the festivities at the restaurants and bars in the Pepper Place District.
Hammerfest is partnering with the Lakeshore Foundation, a 501©3 a non-profit organization with a mission to encourage and provide opportunities for people with disability to live a healthy lifestyle through activity, research, advocacy and health promotion. Saturday will also include a hand cycling race. The Hammer Ride on Sunday, March 13th offers two FREE rides for cyclists. Beginning and ending at Cahaba Brewing, cyclists will have the option of a 30 or 60-mile race or ride. Riders are encouraged to fundraise with 100% of rider-raised dollars going to support Lakeshore Foundation.
We invite the community to join us for a fun-filled weekend and to help us support the Lakeshore Foundation as they work to provide healthy, active lifestyles for people with disabilities.
