We’ve got big news!

On Tuesday, the Birmingham City Council approved Pepper Place’s designation as an entertainment district. What that means legally is that participating businesses with alcohol licenses can sell alcohol to be consumed off-premises within the boundaries of the district and within its hours of operation. What that means recreationally is that Pepper Place will be a much more cohesive, inviting, and active place for Birmingham to come together.

According to chief operating officer of Sloss Real Estate, Tom Walker, “We believe that by Pepper Place becoming an entertainment district, tenants will see increased foot traffic and sales, and the area will become an even more popular destination for both locals and visitors alike. This district has a true sense of place for the creative community. We want to continue investing in Pepper Place to create an engaging, inspiring destination for our community within our tremendous city.”

With big plans already in the works for 2019, we hope to see new faces coming to experience Pepper Place and take advantage of the excellent food, drinks, and happenings. We hope you’ll see our little corner of Birmingham in a whole new light.

The designation is expected to go into effect in February.
