This past Saturday, October 2nd visitors flocked to The Place to talk to EV owners and kick the tires on a selection of EVs at the National Drive Electric Week EVent (NDEW) at The Market at Pepper Place in Birmingham. Owners were on-hand at the event from 8 a.m. until noon answering questions while promoting electric vehicle awareness, technology, affordability and EVs other merits.
“A majority of Alabamians have never driven an electric vehicle, and that’s why they trust EV owners to offer the unvarnished truth about the benefits of driving one,” said Michael Staley, President of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, one of the event’s sponsors. “Many people still have questions about EVs, and this event offers an easy way to learn more about electric vehicles that give off zero emissions, have lower maintenance costs than gasoline-powered cars, and contribute to the creation of high-paying jobs right here in our state.”
In addition to the selection of EV passenger vehicles on display, Birmingham-based Autocar, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of severe-duty trucks, had one of the company’s new electric terminal tractors on display.
