There’s a new face in the Dr Pepper Building that you need to know about: Found. Known for their antique, vintage and contemporary furnishings, Found was born out of the idea that antiques should be accessible to everyone. Their showroom in the Dr Pepper Building consists of a curated collection that includes antique and vintage furnishings as well as art and objects – with some new sprinkled in.

The concept for Found started when owner Sonia Davis was decorating her family’s historic home. Initially, she needed a few classic pieces to add character and a sense of history to the house. So, estate sales and auctions quickly became part of her routine. After a few months of hunting, she found a beautiful antique chest at a great price. It just needed some love, cleaning and a replacement pull. Once it was complete, Sonia posted it on Instagram and the rest is history as Found was born.

Ultimately, Sonia’s desire is to bring antiques and vintage furniture within reach. Now, more than ever, people are investing in their homes and want timeless pieces that are both comforting and beautiful. Found is very intentional about the items they sell. Sonia and her team carefully curate their collection to ensure the pieces are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also able to withstand many more years of use and memories.

“Trends come and go, but the idea of mixing your grandmother’s chest with a modern piece of art will always be a good idea,” said Sonia Davis. “I only sell quality pieces that I would want in my own home: classic, mostly un-painted “brown” furniture, with great lines and patina.”

When it came time to expand her business, Sonia knew Pepper Place was the perfect place for Found. She fell in love with the idea of being surrounded by so many great designers, artisans and chefs. There are two ways to shop with Found:

  1. Instagram – Found posts items regularly on their Instagram page. If you are interested in a piece you can send them a direct message to purchase. Pickup is at their Pepper Place showroom.
  1. Showroom – Found will have monthly showroom sales of exclusive items not shown in their Instagram sales. These sales are by appointment only and you can sign up for a time slot via their website under “SHOP.” Dates of each sale will be announced in their Instagram stories. Sonia and her team especially love these sales because they get to meet so many of their followers!

Originally from Huntsville, Sonia has lived in Birmingham for over 20 years. She currently resides with her family in Homewood. When she’s not tracking down the next great piece for Found, you can find Sonia enjoying a meal with her family at The Lumbar or Bettola. She’s also a frequent shopper at The Market at Pepper Place!

Be sure to follow Found’s Instagram page, where they post their latest and greatest as well as announce the date of their sales.
